Whoa! Here’s the perfect antidote for the miserable winter weather that we’ve been experiencing – two fantastic blasts of rockin’ pop from Rock beat’s own Gary Pig Gold. The A- side “Comin’ Up For Air” is an incredibly catchy pop tune with a slightly roosty flavor a la Buddy Holly. I haven’t heard this sort of thing done so well since ‘round about Marshall Crenshaw’s first album. The B-side “Baby Doll” is a Ramones-style pop-punk number with a bubblegummy pop tune and shout-along refrain played at breakneck speed and backed with buzzsaw guitar. The only problem with this is that there’s not enough of it. More please! |
